Rigol DS1032Z - Counter - Low Frequencies

Anyone tried to measure low frequencies on the counter of the Rigol DG1000Z Waveform generator series. I've been trying to measure below 1Hz and not having much luck.

The counter seems like it needs a relatively long Gate Time to get reliable results on any frequency, so the 10s gate seems OK down to around 500mHz, lower than that and it's highly variable readings on a stable waveform. There is a >10s gate time setting, but I can't get that to produce any readings.

Just curious if anyone has come across similar issues?

You are probably better off setting it to measure period and converting.
