DT-830B multimeter teardown - an unique teardown
« on: June 08, 2016, 04:07:42 am »
Electronupdate, a member here, did a recent teardown of those cheap DT-830B multimeters, but with an unique look starting at the 7:00 minute mark.  I won't spoil it for you.

8617/8217 sound very familiar to me. I think my cheap-ass meter in the 90s had that as a model number?

Not bad for an el-cheapo meter. For most people, if they cannot make it work with a $7 830, they cannot make it work with $700 Fluke or Agilent, ....

That's the bottom line.

That stylized "S" looks like the logo of defunct Signetics, among many things, once a giant in the IC world and developer of the 555 timer.
Best Wishes,
