Rigol DS2072 averaging progress indication?
« on: June 10, 2015, 06:31:35 am »
Just playing with the scope on a dull winter's mid-afternoon. 1uS div, 500mv div, 14M point memory, 8192 averages. Looking at the rising edge of the probe cal signal. After several seconds the horizontal part of the trace settles down to a very clear, noise-free,  narrow line. After maybe 30 minutes of this while I fell into a time warp reading EEVblog forum stuff I looked over and the scope trace now had a bit of noise on it. It was like some sample counter in the scope had rolled over and now it had quit averaging.

What would be good is if there was some kind of progress indicator showing what percentage of the average count had accumulated. Used to use an old HP scope that had this feature as a small bar graph.

Edit -> did it again just after I posted. Took maybe 10 minutes.
