yep.
also it'd be nice if the inputs were in line with the knobs just as a purely convenience thing

It is $1000 USD in China in case anyone was wondering. Not sure which model, but comes standard with serial decode I think...

Hi All
Decoding and MSO will be options.
Unfortunately we have to wait till next year for release outside China. :'(

I like the separate Auto/Normal/Single trigger mode buttons. I only have one [Auto/Normal]<->[Single] button on my SDS-1072CML and find it inadequate sometimes as often I'd like to alternate between Normal and Auto quickly but have to go to the menu for that.

They should make a design change like this.

Hmm... while it definitely would have more sense aesthetically, I noticed that protruding probe connectors restrict my access to "Position" knobs a little, forcing me to pinch them awkwardly.

Yes - it would have been nicer; my guess is they tried but couldn't figure out how to make the packaging work for some manufacturing reason.  Still looks like a pretty thoughtful layout though.  Hope it works well and is priced well.

Hey, this Siglent SDS2000 scope looks better than Rigol DS2000 or GW Instek GDS2000A. It is clearly inspired by Agilent MSOX2000.
It looks great.  :-+ :-+ :-+
http://www.siglent.com/cn/product/detail.aspx?id=100000007854687&nodecode=105008001
But it is still sold only in China, probably.
it may be better than Agilent MSOX2000 which  is a product for years

Still not intensity graded; rather it changes colour

Is this "truth" from "radio jerevan"  or some other garbage generator?

Datasheet page 7 read: Intensity grading: 256 levels.

Also there in datasheet is one picture text read: "Support 256 intensity grading and color temperature waveform display".

-----
4 channel model can use so that it have 2GSa/s for two channels.
Channels in use
1: 2GSa/s
2: 2x 2GSa/s   (Rigol DS2000 2x1GSa/s)
4: 4x1GSa/s   (Rigol 1000Z  4x 250MSa/s)

I drive a LEC (low el. consumption) BEV car. Smoke exhaust pipes - go to museum. In Finland quite all electric power is made using nuclear, wind, solar and water.

It's possible I was only looking at the "color temperature waveform display" but on the Chinese Siglent site it gives operational photos of the scope in action and where it referenced intensity grading it only showed a waveform that turned from blue/green to yellow/red to convey the same data as a normal intensity grading display

More new birds.....
From images at the recent Munich show....recently posted on the Siglent website.
http://www.siglent.com/ENs/qyxwxx.aspx?id=983&sid=26
Siglent would not let me see it when I visited a few weeks ago. Got a glimspe, but it was off limits.
If it follows the SDS2000 series development timeframe it might be a while until we see it for real.
As yet I don't even know the model/series, maybe someone that was in Munich can enlighten us ?

New DSO looks very interesting, seems like a larger display and a much smaller format than the SDS2000 series.

Well, they should rather properly finish the firmware of SDS2000 series scopes.
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/review-siglent-sds2304-a-comparison-of-features-with-rigol-ds2000-series/msg541052/#msg541052
Agreed.
Don't worry we have been nagging Siglent for some time, but better they get it right than release it incomplete.

I think that there are some countries where american scopes are prohibited. So they must buy chinese instruments.

North Korea?  ;D

Seriously, I doubt that is the case. There are export restrictions for certain stuff to certain countries like NK or Iran, but I'm pretty sure if these countries had the chance to get American made scopes (which often are made somewhere else anyways, or just the final assembly is in the US) then they would take them.

I disagree.   :o  Well, not with the "get it right" part.   :P  But releasing something incrementally, that is "incomplete" would be fine... as long as substantial improvements had been made.  That's probably what will wind up happening anyway.  By delaying an update for so long, Siglent locks themselves into an expectation that it will be, as you say, "complete".  And if it's not, people will still be disappointed.

Thanks for the new info.  I noticed that Steve, their GM from the US, was there, helping man the booth.  Did anyone from here who said they were attending the show, stop by and pick up a brochure?  I see that one of their new products (likely a spectrum analyzer) has a visual motif (black & white styling) reminiscent of some RTM-series scopes from Rohde & Schwarz.

And here, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you... the Master of Understatement.   ;D

If it does follow the SDS2000-series trajectory (and honestly, I can't see how they can afford to do that again), we should expect an announcement it will be released next May.  It will actually appear next November 2015.  And in May 2016 they will be promising functional improvements "soon".   >:D

Yes, I'm surprised we've heard nothing yet from any of the attendees.

I'm happy to see them pursuing 4-channel scopes.  Though I see they've moved the input BNCs back under the channel controls again, like all other scopes.  I kinda liked how they bucked the trend on the SDS2000, and your knuckles weren't scraping the BNCs as you adjusted the Channel offsets.

In China, about 20-40 years ago, US made Tek/Agilent scopes were not permitted to be imported. Needless to say, the labs had them anyways. When the Americans came, however, their first order of business was to hide all of it.
