The US FTC just re-affirmed that those warranty void stickers are meaningless in the US of A.
FTC Staff Warns Companies that it is Illegal to Condition Warranty Coverage on the Use of Specified Parts or Services
examples of questionable provisions:
This warranty does not apply if this product . . . has had the warranty seal on the [product] altered, defaced, or removed.

Opening a case to just make sure that there are no loose connections, cold solder joints, solder balls or strands of wires should not void the warranty.

Yep. Same with Sanyo Eneloop charger. If I’d shaken it the solder blim would have dislodged and blown it up.
I open everything first.
