tektronix version of Benchvue?
« on: November 13, 2018, 12:29:11 am »
Is there an equivalent first part program like Benchvue, but for Tek scopes? I'm going to be outfitting a lab and I'm a bit agnostic of the brand as long as they can do what I need. One thing that's going to be critical is the ease of automating tasks. With Benchvue you can do it quick and easy with a first party tool but also accomplish the same with some Python scripts.

I can see some Python examples for Tek on Youtube and Github, but not immediately seeing an out-of-the-box tool

There is the SignalVu thing, not sure how close to what you need though.

For basic functionality with the non-Windows-based scopes, there is the free OpenChoice software. Though it doesn't seem to be maintained much (last update 2016, supports Windows 7 and 8.1).

I'm not terrible familiar with the Tek scope software, but there's TekSmartLab which is specifically for managing labs (https://www.tek.com/teksmartlab).  TekBench is I think the closest equivalent to BenchVue though (https://www.tek.com/tekbench).  SignalVu is for RF analysis, so probably not what you're looking for (https://www.tek.com/product-software-series/signalvu-pc).
