I think that the search options on the software we use are somewhat limited. There are 2 locations from where you can do a search, one on the home screen which produces very poor results, the other is from within a subsection such as the repair heading etc which does produce far better results.

Although I have not tried it, but I suspect that if you were look within the repair for question about the Tektronix 2465 and then did within that section if it has many pages to it, that you might get even better results perhaps, who knows?

Just so.

He has seen fit to tack the question onto a teardown thread in the "test equipment" subforum. He hasn't bothered to indicate whether he has RTFMed, nor followed the faultfinding procedures therein.

Sigh.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

The issue of searching on the forum has been discussed before - and it has been suggested (more than once) that a Google search often provides more useful results, because the forum appears to be well indexed in Google.

This is very true, I have often noticed the forum cropping up in google searches, and sometimes when a forum search had previously failed to find anything too, you jogged my memory there.

You haven't bothered to indicate what research you have done, nor why that hasn't answered your questions. That has the disadvantages noted at https://entertaininghacks.wordpress.com/library-2/good-questions-pique-our-interest-and-dont-waste-our-time-2/

And as I pointed out, there are better places to get a reply; only a small subset of readers still bother with this thread.

Don't forget that asking the same question in two places is, very sensibly, jumped on by the moderators.

I searched for;
Tektronix 2465 blinking front lights.
Tektronix 2465 startup errors.
Tektronix 2465 failure to start, and then i tried
Tektronix 2465 blinking front lights, about 3 more times before i gave in and asked the admittedly limited reader base who i consider friends in some fashion or another. Mostly because i don't even really know what i'm searching for.

I answered you in the 2465B teardown thread.

Usually by this time lawns here are ready for their first trim. Not this year. Spring is at least 2 weeks behind schedule. We even had a trace of snow this morning.  :--

Yep. Too bloody hot. I slightly miss living in Nottingham. It never really got “hot hot” there.

Shame about the crack whores and burglars.
