Yeah, that's the one I have. I can do it line item by item, just hoping somebody had already done it.   :P

Yeah, saw that last week and thought to myself, if that was over here, the CAA would ground it because of the mods its had done. They are kind of twitchy over planes like that  >:D

If he can spend $1M to build the effing thing, pretty sure he can afford to grease the wheels to get any kind of permitting he needs.

That beast looks like it would be a blast to fly.  I wouldn't want to have to feed that PT-6, though!   :o  Turbines are rather thirsty buggers unless you get up really high with them.

I know he can and has done so over your side of the pond. I really doubt on this side of the pond that it would get a permit to fly or get any insurance. Since we had a standard Hunter jet crash at Shoreham a couple of years back, CAA have gone into hypo drive and loads of extra red tape has been put in place, new rules, regulations, in place and bans etc.

So if planes that have been flying successfully for years with a set of well known characteristics, flown by ex military pilots who are used to flying them can be prevented from flying, then a plane that is totally unique, unknown characteristics most likely would be grounded too. Even the owner admits its a handful and he's still learning about it.

Highly likely now I think. Mind you, after Brexit we won't be getting anything from China because planes, ships etc would not be able to operate if what the anti Brexiters are saying is true.....

If what we now know had come out last time, I seriously doubt that Brexit would be happening, I think we now need a second vote, not even the remain camp fully knew just how much we are reliant on the EU for life as we know now it, next year does not look pretty, all flights outside UK, stopped, same with shipping, not eurotunnel, ferries etc etc, no more holidays abroad, relatives living overseas would become distant memories and lost to us forever once we undo that knot  :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

It's almost as if you're saying that the populus tends to make decisions based on emotions, rather than carefully weighed decisions based on facts and level-headed debate. Surely that can't be?

It would be fairly hilarious that people get angry about not being able to move freely across borders after voting to abolish open borders if it weren't so painful. Pleading ignorance isn't really viable. People elected to ignore the information that didn't suit their emotions and this seems to be the result.

I think if everyone re-reads my post in particular "If what we now know had come out last time" I think its then pretty clear that absolutely no-one came out and publicly stated that these things that I have mentioned and more were never mentioned in the public domain, I'm quite sure that the result would well have been different.

The populus was completely misinformed throughout that whole process by both the "Leave" and the "Remain" factions, whether that was by design or ignorance is besides the point and cannot be proven either way.

One fact is that the "Leave" group broke the rules of the campaign and if it had been a general election and the winning party were subsequently proven to have broken the rules, I would expect that the whole process would have been declared a non event and another election called. That should be the case here over Brexit.

The populus can only react to the facts as presented in the same way as a jury can only react to the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defense its as clear as that. Since that vote was taken and the deadline looms ever larger more facts are being uncovered and exposed to the populus BUT not by the government but by experts in their own fields of commerce, transport, and people who are trade agreement specialists etc, these are areas that no politician has extensive knowledge of and hence why that information was not presented in the first vote,. All media coverage was of things like the televised debates by the various political parties leaders slogging it out on live TV.

This is not intended to become a full scale debate/discussion just a mere comment thats all.

Bringing it back to tea again, I managed to secure last night another Tek TDS210 with a set of probes but was more interesting for me at least was there was a differential probe as well in the deal.

Keeping it TEA. About a month ago I decided to start buying SMA kit in from China because it's easier to board mount, cheap as chips and probably does the job ok for low volume users like me. I went for lowest bidder on everything just to see how bad it is.

First batch of cack arrived today which is some BNC to SMA pigtails and some SMA edge mounts. So far so good - seem reasonable. Was quite surprised. Will see how they hold up over a month or two and start a thread on that I think.

I also use the cheap chinese SMA connectors and cables and such. So far they worked out great for me. Yeah at a few GHz the cables get lossy and loose there impedance, but for use on scopes and such that stay down in the low MHz range they work great.

Good to hear. I'm not worrying about a few GHz (yet). The desire to go louder and faster is built into the human condition however so YMMV there.

9 pages....!

You get busy for a couple of days and then there's 9 pages on which to catch up.

This did raise a smile, though:
Nice rack there! :-+
For the simple reason that, in this thread, it is just a genuine admiration of the electronics shown and would garner a thumbs up from anyone, without offence.  In other environments, a very different reaction might occur.

Y'know it never even entered my mind (which has on occasion been liked to a cesspit) to apply any alternative, possibly salacious, interpretation to that remark.
Anybody got a syringe I can use to squeeze the magic smoke back into this?

That Draco looks about as useful as tits on a Boar hog for a working plane.  small interior, large operating cost and low relative payload.  But it sure would be a blast to fly!
At least I'm still older than my test equipment
