Is it a calculator? Is it a multimeter? Is it both? Is it neither?

I initially thought Dave had learned to master Photoshop, but no... someone actually made this funny looking hybrid...

Is it a calculator? Is it a multimeter?

It's a CalcuMeter ! Or maybe a MultiLator. Oh yes, multilator, I like that :)

If you Google around for a bit you'll find there are plenty for sale.

I haven't seen any for sale after googling around. A few places list that as "call for price", I doubt they have any in stock. Found 1 from Taobao.com http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.2.0hWneK&id=10079352581 listed as RMB 450, around US$70?

I especially like the jack-of-clubs tilt stand for the 3207.

I think I've seen a review of this MultiLator in one of the old Elektor mags from the late eighties. Have to go dig that up...

As a calculator collector AND a DMM collector I absolutely must have one of those! I also have googled, but not found anything. This is something HP should do. As the world best calculator manufacturer and long time manufacturer of really good test gear, I _demand_ them to buy back Agilent and create a real "RPN-DMM". :) I would buy two of them at least, no questions asked, and perhaps check the specs later.

I'm sorry you must have been terribly outdated, everyone who designed the calculators are at Agilent not HP, HP is now full of losers who think computers are the way forward for HP (Which agilent thinks is not and damn, they are right)
We need to go back to 1980 and tell HP to fire anybody who thought of computing and make RPN-DMMs!

There are bench multimeters that have a y=mx+b function (basically offset and gain) you can apply to the reading, but this is something entirely different :)

Some bench meters can do statistical functions, trig functions, transcendental functions and 8th degree polynomials. Some also allow you to upload programs that can do computations.

HP designed a range of HP-IL instruments designed to work with the HP-41 programmable calculator.

What do you mean? Agilent has never designed calculators. HP has, before the split into Agilent and HP is still the company that makes calculator (nowadays via exclusive rebranding from Kinpo Electronics). I'm fully aware of Agilent branching of HP and that the latest HP calculators are not designed nor manufactured in house, so I don't really understand in what way I'm outdated?

Oh no, you don't get what i mean, :\
The HP we know of in the yesteryears is dead, they've gone to Agilent.
