Google THS7BAT they are very expensive
or use what marshallh uses:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/tektronix-ths710a-at-$190-grab-it/msg298298/#msg298298

Or what Jay_Diddy_B posted later on, there might be more alternatives in that thread

Edit, fixed link

Having 4 of these scopes sometimes working on projects and then they are not being used for
a few month, the batteries never lasted really long for me. I don't think I ever got fifty
cycles out of a new TEK battery.

I used to buy the original TEK batteries from Allied electronics in the US, since they had the best price.
But even that got too expensive and finally I modified mine to hold 4 Type C rechargeable batteries.

There is a company on ebay Germany that offers the modification.
But I have no idea how good they are or hwo they do it in detail.
ebay auction number: 171053081107

There are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who can count and those who can not.

I have looked at the other post in this forums relating to the battery. However it seems bit difficult to tell from them what the final mod and apears to be more of a discussion of what could be done.

Is it a case of just putting the AA battery in the C cell converter cartridge and placing this cartridge in the scope meter.
Sorry if I got this part wrong.

Just to add.
I contacted Tektronix regarding the firmware version of the scope I have which is version 1.03 they said they can update it with a calibration but want £200 for the pleasure of doing this. This shows it is possible to update the firmware.

Anyway seems a better scope in terms of functions compared to the TDS1002.

Thanks you all for you input.

I am still using my original TEK battery but will need to replace it at some point in the near future.
I will be fitting COTS rechargeable cells, either AA size (in C adapters) of C size. I will then connect the charge contact wire from the side of the battery holder to the +ve top connection.

I advise avoiding the German company detailed above. I tried them. Sent full technical drawings etc and never heard another word from them after several emails over a few weeks. I eventually reclaimed the money from PayPal. It appears they want you to send your battery to them and they re-use the heat shrink case and all contact hardware ? Not recommended.

If I have helped you please consider a donation : https://gofund.me/c86b0a2c

The charger is designed for NiCad battery's not Nimh batterys .

Would this do more harm than good to the battery and scope?

I had no such problem with swopping Nicad for Nimh with the Fluke 123 and charging the battery in the scope.

Not sure if the same applies to the tek scope.
