Interesting, no multimeter chipset but implemented with a 24 bit ADC (ADS1240) and a processor.

PS : Regarding photos attachment in a single post, you can put up to 25 attachments (max. 2MB total), all you need is just click the tiny words -> (more attachments) when you're attaching photo, its right below the "Browse" button when you're going to select the file you want to upload. Yes, its easy to miss it.

Damn, that's a LOT of ICs.  :o

I guess this meter is easy to fix as no proprietary chip used ?

Are those two clear glass neon bulbs like at the right are GDT ?

I'm guessing so, although they're a bit how-you-doing.

Some of that hand-soldering is really nasty and those input jacks and current shunt need a bit more solder IMHO.

Just looking at them: There's a whole bunch of 8-bit shift registers. Are they implementing the LCD driver in discrete logic?  WTF? :o

Edit: No, they aren't. All the tracks to the LCD connector come from the main chip. What are all the shift registers for, then?

They must need a lot of I/O's, not only for the LCD (A shift register only works for simple LCD's), but also for the DMM part, there must be lots of MUX's to control for auto ranging and modes.

Oh, I thought that chip was DMM chipset.
I should have took the close up image of it.

I have been open up the meter about tree time already from last evening. :)

Ahh, that was the reason for the error message. :)

I tried to make the images to be high resolution and end up making each jpg file slightly less than 1MB,
and end up attaching more than three images being caught with warning of the 2MB. :)
So I just started to attach one image at the time.

And then the next warning was that I need to wait 30 sec each for next posts.
Probably I will compress more and reduce the file size, next time.

Thinking to do the same for Hioki DT4282.
