Type of input connectors on a Lecroy DDA-5005A scope?
« on: August 15, 2018, 08:26:36 pm »
Does anyone know what type of RF connector this is? The manual was useless... Ideally, I'd like to go from this to a female BNC.

Thanks.

Thanks, I knew about them but I was hoping to find a low cost alternative. Those seem to go for about $250 USD! I just need to know the part # or type of the connector.

I would guess some TNC connector,  hum i think some Hp sig generator has them ?? not totally sure.

I think the Lecroy adapters may have some passive or active electronics in them, you have an look a like 6 pins idc connector on them ?

I think it is a standard MCX RF connector.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

That looks like the one. I just noted that the Tek TDS7154X and up use the same connector.
Thanks!

I think these connectors are called BMA (blind mate adapter), OSP/OSM or RPC (Rosenberger Precision Connector), depending on the manufacturer. However there are several different Rosenberger series, I once was told it's RPC-SP and 10S732-K00N5 could work as RPC-SMA Adapter. Though this one is not affordable and not available in single pieces.
The original adapters are Lecroy LPA-SMA, LPA-K (3.5mm) or LPA-BNC.
You should find some compatible BMA/SMA adapters on ebay. However they don't lock in, so you'll need some external mounting plate and screws to hold them in place.

Thanks. I ended up harvesting the connector from a Tek TCA-BNC
