Keysight U1282A LCD contrast issue with backlight on
« on: May 02, 2018, 08:35:41 pm »
i have just got U1282A , when comparing to my old U1272A i see LCD contrast is really poor at low, high and side viewing angle. I see issue only when backlight is on, things seems to be fine without backlight.

i have attached three images to show how contrast changes depending on angle. although photos don't show properly but U1272A holds contrast perfectly.

Can some of U1282A owners please share there experience.  i just wanted to know if it is only with my unit or it this normal behavior for U1282A.
Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hard to tell precisely from the photos but it looks similar to my unit.

Kind regards

Thank you for quick reply , i would say result is quite the same. blacklight is a bummer , in ambient light every thing is fine

I get similar results, so it's not anything particular to your meters. From the bottom, the 1282 has a bit less contrast than the 1272 at the same angle. From the sides, though, the 1282 has significantly faster drop in contrast than the 1272.

However, in practice I hadn't really noticed it. I guess it's just reflex to either move the meter or my position.
