Wanted inexpensive humidity meter for garage and general fooling around so decided to give a try for the new UT333 I had seen in some advertisement:
http://uni-trend.com/productsdetail_1454_985_985.html+Suprisingly good accuracy and response time, well within 1%RH when checked with 11% 33% and 75% calibration salts. Response time couple of minutes to within 2%RH (many cheapo humidity meters/sensors have horribly long response time, settling to final value 3%RH can take several days)
+auto-power off can be disabled
+inexpensive (about 15-20 USD from ebay) (Fluke 971 is pretty similar with 300 usd price tag)
+reasonably solid construction
+- limited battery life, about 4-6 months without auto-power-off
- sensor is not "isolated" from rest of the casing, annoying with some humidity calibrators as you would need to place the entire meter inside the test chamber, not just the sensor.
And you can't get accurate readings by just plugging the sensor part to a hole in HVAC duct because air can circulate freely from sensor part to rest of the insides of the meter (and went from battery lid/seam)
