Got the new scope, it's running firmware version 00.04.03.SP1... any major fixes or changes or issues with going to the latest firmware version of 00.04.03.SP2 or 00.04.03.02.03 (full version).. can not seem to locate a "fix list" with the new version.. do they not post that, i.e. "this firmware addresses.. blah blah blah"
Just curious what others have done.

In my opinion unless you are experiencing issues you should wait until the next firmware version is released.

The SP2 firmware did fix a couple of issues that I personally found annoying, but introduced a couple more annoying issues. For my purposes the first point outweighs the second point. But YMMV of course.
Since it is apparently impossible to "roll back" to an earlier version of the firmware, I would advise researching the issues carefully before deciding whether to upgrade to SP2 or not. Myself... I just hope they issue a new firmware update _soon_, that fixes the new annoying issues associated with the SP2 update (the "Pluses" spelling error and the Measurements Fail with Math On bug.)
I've never been able to decode the Chinglish in the changelogs into any language that I can understand. And it seems from my experience that some fixes aren't listed in the changelogs and some things that are listed don't apply to my scope. But that could be down to my lack of understanding of the language used in the changelog.

I recently updated to firmware 00.04.03.02.03 and now the USBTMC command :WAV:DATA? is no longer working in RAW BYTE mode. It was working fine before with firmware 00.04.03.01.05 (= 00.04.03.SP1).

I guess there's a problem with your software. Here it works fine with the latest firmware and DSRemote.

I had the problem when using python-usbtmc version 0.6 under OS X. I have since tried the same Python library under Ubuntu Linux and it works fine. This appears to confirm what Karel said, that the firmware update was not the problem.

My first post to this group so if I'm in the wrong place please point me gently in the right direction.
I'm a new owner of a DS1054Z which was delivered with version 00.04.03.SP2.
Has anyone verified that license codes generated at http://gotroot.ca/rigol/riglol/ (http://gotroot.ca/rigol/riglol/) are valid for this firmware version. My attempts to use codes generated there with UltraSigma command :SYSTem:OPTion:INSTall <license> have not been successful.

Connect the scope via LAN. Remove the USB cable (if any).
Use telnet or putty.
Check with the command *IDN?. Scope should respond with model and serial number.
Then enter :SYST:OPT:INST <key>
Have fun.

I had no problem connecting with UltraSigma and *IDN? returns the model, serial, and firmware version correctly.
I have just been able to successfully enter the code by direct entry on the scope so the codes are good for this firmware version!
I assume I must be making a mistake in the command syntax for UltraSigma. The programming guide says:

That's not surprising since the command line parser should accept either the full, or the partial, commands.
I may still be missing something but I'm not going to fret about it. Too many new features to learn.

The UltraSigma software is garbage. I'm surprised you got any response out of it at all.

There are a lot of things that Rigol's oscilloscope firmware should... but doesn't.

In my experience, yes. And I'm not aware of any posters who reported the opposite.

a) Wait a day or two, make sure it works first.
b) 500uV doesn't work. It's a hardware limitation, don't do it.

I just found firmware 04.04 here (http://int.rigol.com/File/ProductSoftWare/20160719/DS1000Z(ARM)update.rar). Works on my "1104" and my options are still active.

I was eagerly waiting for the Full Screen X-Y feature.
I dared to update and managed not to brick my scope :-)
Now there is an additional button where you can switch between SPLIT and FULL.
All options are still there (including 100MHz).
Here are some screenshots of a 10.7MHz filter with the new full screen option.

Have you noticed that the button is labelled SPLIT when in split mode and FULL when in full mode? Shouldn't it be the other way round, so that the label tells you what will happen if you push the button?
However I'm happy anyhow.

"DSFR enables everything including that 500uV Vertical option but the scope won't work properly with it (check other thread for details)
DSER will enable everything BUT the 500uV Vertical option so thats the option to choose"
