Very special meter find

This meter is produced during the cold war. To mislead the eastblock when they tried to build secret stuff from American stolen circuit designs, the yanks started to use imperial volts. In the same period Fluke merged with the European Philips.
This leaded to problems when American and European techs had to work together.

To overcome this Philips made this very special meter for internal use. The red button is there to switch between metric and imperial volts

When Fluke and Philips merged, did it become Phluke or Filips?

Imperial electrical electrical units are quite amazing, never heard about them. The googling find no result.
It's a product of cold war?

Philips and Fluke merged in 1993.
This meter must be at least 10 years older, I would guess early to med 80s.

I thought I knew all Philips meters of that age, since our university's lab was
sponsored by Philip. But I have never seen this meter before with such
a red button.
