Surprising to see it uses button cells, even for a compact unit. I wonder if the current draw from the batteries is low enough to prevent miserable battery life.

I am measuring sub 6mA draw, manufacturer claims 9mA
LR44 is anywhere between 200mah and 600mAh, so clearly the 100 hours claimed life is probably when on but with sleep mode naps in between
