Here are some things you can do:

Force a shutter calibration and wait 3 seconds.
Chose a fitting emissivity setting.
Look at a high contrast scene.
Let it burn in a bit.

It's a known problem on the new iOS at least on the 2nd Gen Flir One. They're working on a fix.
