It looks like FLIR are chasing part of the industrial 'box camera' market with this new offering. It is a departure from their normal camera format, but there is a huge market for preventative maintenance thermal camera surveillance. Such 'box camera' formats also find their way into CCTV and science applications. FLIR have had an extensive range of 'box cameras' thanks to their acquisition of Indigo who specialised in thermal camera miniaturisation. Maybe it is time for FLUKE to spread its wings a little as its Raytek acquisition some years provides experience of industrial non-contact equipment monitoring using thermal sensors.
Pricing will be interesting and expect to see >30fps available as such ban be a requirement for industrial process monitoring.
