I recently bought a Seek Thermal CompactPro, and I'm interested in building it into a more advanced system either to use with my phone or independently. I see that there's a number of successful pieces of software to make Seek Thermal Compact cameras work with things other than smartphones and the official app, but I'm not so sure what people are actually using -- attention is rightly given to the investigation of the tools.

I've been having a hard time interpreting some of the years-old and non-Pro threads.

So, what I'm looking for:

1. Is it true that there is a version of Seekofix that works for the Compact Pro FastFrame? Clearly this wouldn't be the Github version -- or would it?

2. What cable is used to connect a Seek Thermal to a desktop computer?  Custom? I have never seen a USB A Male -> USB Micro Female cable for sale.

3. Has anybody actually already succeeded in building any of the Windows softwares for Windows 10 IoT Core on RasPi and getting it to run?

4. Does this post show an actually viable, working Seek Thermal based system? What hardware is shown? https://www.eevblog.com/forum/thermal-imaging/seek-thermal-hardware-modification-to-improve-image-quality/msg875737/#msg875737

5. Has anybody successfully charged their phone and run a Seek Thermal at the same time?

1. I believe so. I made the SeekOFix but since I do not own Pro version I never made new version with Pro support.
2. You need a cable like this:

3. Not that I know of. I attached Seek on the RPI running WIN10 IOT and it was recognised by win correctly.
4. No, that was just my idea of a nice project. (RPI+touchscreen+powerbank). Windows 10 iot did run on this configuration but I newer ported my SeekOFix to universal win apps.
5. Probably, with modified cable.

Cool, thank you for all the information.

You say "Windows 10 iot did run on this configuration but I newer ported my SeekOFix to universal win apps." -- i.e. that you did run Windows 10 IoT Core on the raspi but SeekOFix doesn't run on it?

What about a USB A male to C female -> C m-f extension -> C male OTG to micro female?

Yes SeekOFix is a simple .net application. To run it on RPI you would have to convert it to "Universal Apps".

Yes,there is a version of SeekOfix that works for the Compact Pro FastFrame. but it's just a simple demo. you you can find it in my first post.
You can use Joe-C's software instead,it has more function.
you can DIY the cable as frenky's pic. the ID pin unconnected or connect to GND doesn't matter.
A simple stuff to get the image from seek if you can use C/C++/C#/JAVA/VB.....or any program language ;D
use zadig to install the driver and communicate with it as a common USB device.
