This was before my time, but those chain printers scared the hell out of me when they started without warning. Fingers back or lose'em!

A friend back in the time said at his workplace how one of those things worked.

At first in his head, he thought of a chain poking around, some hammers hitting it it at a leisure pace, but many at once. sounded logical.

Then the colleague opens the printer, and he saw the the chain whoosh whoosh whoose.

They've even got the Buck Rodgers consoles and gaudy colors; only thing missing is the ash tray and thick layer of cigarette smoke in the air!
