Hello,

I'm an electronic hardware design engineer and embedded software engineer with 15+ years of experience and I'm looking for work as follows:
  • Full time staff position.
  • Temporary / part time / contract job work.
  • Relocation within the USA is possible for the right opportunity or local (pacific NW) / remote work is sought.
  • I am from the USA and am generally authorized to work on any job therein (and as may be permitted for international organizations).

Suitable positions & responsibilities include any of the following:
  • Embedded software / firmware engineer.
  • Hardware / electronics design engineer.
  • System software engineer.
  • Sustaining engineer for products / systems with electronic hardware devices, or embedded software products.

My experience includes:
  • System level architecture / design / specification / documentation / verification / test / debugging.
  • Embedded software / firmware programming for MCUs & CPUs under embedded (or other) LINUX / UNIX / RTOS / bare metal.
  • System software or test software design.
  • Programming in C++, C, and Python, Assembler, shell scripting, others.
  • PCB schematic CAD and PCB layout design using Altium, ORCAD, PADS as used within the organization.
  • Circuit design of MCU/CPU, digital, analog, mixed-signal, power, and low power RF / wireless electronics.
  • PCB test / debugging / bring-up / assembly / rework.

I'm experienced with firmware, software and electronic designs for applications / industries / technologies including:
  • Audio / telecommunications (analog / digital audio & telephony, A/V conferencing, microphones, VOIP).
  • Instrumentation (metrology, data acquisition, system control).
  • Networking hardware (Ethernet, USB, low power RF - Bluetooth / 6LowPAN / IoT, serial RS-232 etc., SPI, I2C, WAN).
  • Networking software (IP/TCP/UDP, HTTP/WWW, VoIP, Bluetooth low energy / 6LowPAN / IoT).
  • Video (Composite analog, DVI, HDMI, image sensors, image processing SW ).
  • DC-DC power conversion.
  • Battery packs, smart battery charger systems, battery management systems.
  • Electric vehicle systems / electronics.

  • If you want more money, be more valuable.
I wish I could afford someone right now. My business needs the help, but we are too tight financially to pull in new people. There is a job we are bidding that could fund in the next few weeks though.

Good luck with your growing business / winning the bid, and congratulations on being awarded the new oscilloscope, I know it's great to be able to get good tools for the job after making do without!

I wish I could afford someone right now. My business needs the help, but we are too tight financially to pull in new people. There is a job we are bidding that could fund in the next few weeks though.

Where are you in the Pacific Northwest? Depending on your availability, I have some contacts in Oregon and they might need someone like you. Do you do contract or consulting and if so what is your rate? As I understand it most engineers in the US work full time because they have young families and need the benefits. If you can afford to work independently it is better, but then again its really a matter of financial need and work style.
