Reference request from German company

Does anybody know how I can contact the MD’s son of this business in Germany?

The son  came to my workplace  in UK in approx. 2014, as an 18 year old, on a work placement,   just  before he was due to start at university  in Germany.
He was very intelligent. He had fantastic C  and electronics skills.
I taught him how to design DCDC LED drivers, and also how to lay them out on the PCB. He learned very quickly.
I have been trying unsuccessfully to contact him so I can possibly  request a reference from him for my linkedin account. (I would obviously do the same for him because he was a great student)

If you did not find the lad on Linkedin (I assume you know his name and have checked there), he might not be interested in playing the Linkedin reference game anyway?
