I think there has to be some sane middle ground between this, which
is very well thought-out but not ready for prime-time, and the cheap-ass chattery POS CNC PCB mills one sees on AliEx. The idea of being able to do iterative design or hobbyist fab in-house with a 4-to-8-hour turnaround is very enticing.
I'd gladly pay real money for something that has everything figured out for you like this... with known-to-work rivets, drills & consumables, etc... made with linear rails and a properly bolted-down BL drill motor, rather than cheap knocked-together V-slot and a Mabuchi 380 can motor held on with a hose clamp.
I'd be very happy with even as small as 150mm x 150mm or 200mm x 200mm PCB area... as long as it was sanely priced (for hobbyist use) and not a complete POS.
