- Core XY motion system
- 500 mm/s max print speed
- 256mm x 256mm x 256mm build volume
- Fully enclosed

For the rest of the details, see the Official Elegoo website (USA) and look at some Youtube reviews

There is also the Elegoo Centauri - which is the same printer, but without the enclosure panels and is USD $199 on pre-order.

For those of us down under, the Australian website has the pre-order price at AUD $699.99

Ouch!  That is an exchange rate of about 0.428...

Don't forget .... Australia is on the other side of Mars, so shipping is a costly exercise.  :(

Indeed.  When I saw the US price I started reaching for my credit card, but when I saw the AU price,  :o I paused.

I haven't unpaused as yet.

The order page does mention that shipping is calculated at checkout so I was expecting the shipping would be exactly that - calculated based on delivery address.

In their Shipping Policy I see that while they normally ship free for larger orders, there is a special exception:
Quote
Orders including Centauri Carbon or Centauri will be charged $50 AUD/pc shipping fees
For the US it is:
Quote
Orders that include Centauri or Centauri Carbon will incur a shipping fee of $30 per unit.

We are close to China and while bulky these shouldn't be too heavy.  So, nah... that terrible exchange rate on pre-orders isn't justified.

I wasn't likely to buy one anyway.  I actually need to get rid of some more of my old 3D printers.

Jaycar carry 3D printers, including ELEGOO, so hopefully they'll have some shipped by slow boat after not too long.

On the AU website, they show the following: $874.99 AUD  $699.99 AUD

My guess: apply the same math to the US price of $299.99 and it comes out as $374.99 - however, there's no definitive guide on whether that logic is correct.

Reviews look good, but the lack of some sort of AMS is my showstopper. I use P1S's in a small print farm (hamlet?) and use two colours on all prints.

multi-filament isn't a big thing for me.  I just need the bigger build volume than what I got and an enclosed machine is pretty nice.
Trigger pulled. I always thing it's funny when the paypal merchant comes back with something like "深圳市智能派科技有限公司"...
$329.99 USD shipped.

It does have a "poop chute" (a big hint, I think) ... and the question of a multi filament system was raised directly with Elegoo.  Their answer was a single word: "Yes"

The questions of when, how much and features are (as far as I know) yet to be explored publicly.

Does anyone know if it will run Marlin or Klipper firmware?

It doesnt run klipper/marlin, its a custom 'elegoo os' as its a combined single board from what I've seen of the electronics bay.  It should be trivial to drop a driver board and rpi in it though and run klipper, I plan to do this when mine arrives (july :/)  I have many vorons, and wanted something in the 250^3 range to go between my v0's and v2.4 350^3, and klipper & mobileraker is a must for my managment.

I'll post if I remember when I've done this if no one else has by then, I'm sure it's just a matter of time though.  I have plenty of controllers and pi's on hand to drop in when it does finally arrive.

Just curious.  What's the most important features that you feel are only available (or significantly better) with klipper?

I don't do a lot of multi-filament printing with my Bambu AMS system, at least as far as color goes...  BUT what has proven useful is the ability to use different materials for support that do not adhere to each other.  IE PLA and PETG work well in that regard - the main body is one material and the supports are the other.  The end result is the supports cleanly pop right out of the main component.

Anyone get a pre-order yet?

I wonder how the tariffs will effect this.  They could lose a bunch of money if they have to eat 145% increase on such a low margin pre-order.
