heat resistant resin prints for automotive engine bays
(1/1)
glenenglish:
Are there any resins suitable for encasing electronics in automotive engine bays ?
IE :
rigid
125deg C operating temperature
self extinguishing when subject to gasoline fire
youngs at least 1 GPa, tensile at least 30 MPa at operating temperature
CTE less than 20....
chemically resistant to kerosine /cleaning solvents
asking too much ? no substitute for a milled block of aluminium ?!
varjag:
Have a look into BASF RG 9400: rigid, high temp and UL V-0 rating. A bit fussy in prep.
Henkel Loctite could have offerings like that but haven't used their products in a while.

thanks very much- just what I was looking for

Make sure to read their handling guide. It's has to be "thawed" if it sits longer than a couple days, or you get hard slush out of the bottle.
