Storing a 3d printer

Lindley:
@Ian.M  seems the UK does not follow such safety concerns as you do as only a few weeks ago they were shouting about a similar new product with no mention of such harm to human health and metals as detailed on some of the US sites.
The one we showed above is sold by the large supermarkets and no such warnings given.

Not noticed any signs of corrosion on our printer such as a white residue or pitting on the bare aluminium but will be changing over to the slica gel desiccants as soon as .

Thanks !   :-+

Ian.M:
Calcium chloride is safer than mould!  It is likely to corrode any metal you spill it on, and is hazardous if ingested  in more than trace quantities but most homes with a mould problem don't keep precision machinery in the affected areas.

I've got silica gel packets from things I've made through the post (printer reels and such), I'll put a few of them in the box with it. Thanks

Ian.M:
If they've been lying about, you'll need to regenerate the silica gel by heating it, or they wont be effective.  Precise regeneration instructions depend on the packet type . . .

I put them on the heated X-Y table, and then throw them into a zip-lock bag with the filament spool for storage.
