Title: ActiveBOM
Post by: daedalus on May 18, 2019, 09:16:05 am
When using ActiveBOM, is there an easy way to build a basket at a supplier's website from a given activeBOM design? Say i have selected parts from Digikey for a 5 off run of my design, is there a way to automatically build a digikey basket with all the parts i need, labelled with the designators from the project?

I have recently done this by hand for a project and was thinking that surely there is an automated way to do this?

You should be able to do this with an outjob.  Should just be a matter of making the ActiveBOM the source of a BOM output, and then setting up the appropriate BOM template and filtering.

I forget how good the integration is (I've never used it), but if nothing else you can generate a BOM with the relevant fields (Mfg/Supplier PN, qty) and import that into Digi-Key, or Mouser or any other supplier that has spreadsheet import (which is many!).

Thanks for that, I will give the spreadsheet route a try.
