Post by: meerweten on December 18, 2017, 05:57:55 pm
As i'm short in time for a project i was trying to get the autorouter to work (never got it working).
the problem is that is does noting :/

tried it on a simple pcb still nothing.
Am i missing something?
All tutorials i find on the internet just press the autoroute and it seems to work...

Autoroute is driven by design rules.  For example, you might be able to route it by hand using any allowed trace width, but the autorouter will only use the Preferred trace width, and if that conflicts with clearance rules or a number of other things (SMT Connect, maybe?), it won't go.

I've found that Altium's autorouter works 'a little better' with completely through-hole designs (no smt devices).

Surface mount devices, even with fantouts, just seem to cause it to choke and embarrass itself.
