Coordinates following the cursor
« on: October 31, 2019, 04:55:10 am »
Any Altium wizards want to tell me how to stop the coordinates following my cursor? Not sure what I pressed but they usually behave and sit in the corner.

Sorry for the terrible quality gif.

Shift+h and you will never have to see that Monstrosity of a Box again. I personally never used it and it has annoyed me far too often.

I have never seen the Issue you have tho, if you really want to keep the box look into Heads Up Display, that is how that thing is called.

View - Board Insight
has all the controls you need.

Seems you hit SHIFT+G at some point!

Personally, I prefer the heads-up, with SHIFT+D (delta) enabled.  Never found the tracking or magnifier settings useful or even pleasant.

SHIFT+S (toggle single layer view) is another handy one that you may discover frustratingly by accident. :)

Shift + S is an extremely useful shortcut in my Opinion.
I use it all the time.

I dont get why you would ever want to use Shift + G tho.  :-DD

Ah, the good old coordinates following cursor problem.
Sooner or later everyone turns that on by accident.

Yeah, I use Shift + S all the time. Thanks Altium brains trust, all fixed. I find the heads up display useful when it's not following my cursor. Why would anyone want it to follow their cursor?

It is useful when you run at high resolutions like 4k.

When you're plunking down a bunch of passives in a cluster and don't want to remember which component has which value, the hover-over information is quite useful.  I use it to figure out which of the several bypass caps has the lower capacitance, to be placed closer to the IC.  Otherwise, I have to cross-select.  It's faster to use the heads-up.
