I'm having this problem with my draftsman document that I try to create for my project. I have to say, this is my first time with AD17, so perhaps the solution is very obvious but I am not aware of it.

So I have included two heat sinks and a plastic cover for an oscillator in my design, as mechanical parts. I have placed them in the PCB, naturally above other components (the processor, the FPGA and the oscillator). However, when I create the draftsman assembly view these mechanical components are solidly displayed and thus all the parts underneath them are not shown.

I haven't yet found a solution how to make them transparent in the draftsman. I have tried changing the opacity of their 3D models in the PCB, even hide them completely, but this seems to only influence the PCB itself and not the assembly view.

Does anyone know something in this direction?

Same problem here.  Tried both V16 and V18.

For me, it's multiple metal shield fences (with removable lids).  The fences are 'open' on top and should reveal the components inside, but nope - total eclipse!

It's one of many reasons I can't use Draftsman for serious work.
