increase/decrease radial spacing of components in Altium 09
« on: March 25, 2013, 03:22:32 pm »
Lets say I have placed some LEDs on a circle (mech layer), and for some reason I want to decrease/increase the diameter of the circle and place all those LEDs again. Is there an easy way to do it? I have tried creating a union (LEDs) and re-sizing it but its not working. Any tips/tricks will be appreciated.
Thanks!

polar grids... but you are on 09....
set the rotation step in the preferences.
place a loose pad at the cente rof rotation.
place another loose pad at the radius of the circle.
select the pad on the radius
edit-copy
click on pad in the centre ! don;t click on the pad on the radius !!

now do edit-paste and hit space bar.
you will get a copy of the pad on the radius spun with the given angle around the centre

option-preferences lets you type in the rotation step you want.

that is the easiest and quickest way to do this kind of trickery.

Thanks, I know another trick for that. Set angle in preferences, select all components on a circle, cut from center and paste -> spacebar -> left clcik on center.

But I want to change the radius not the angle. For example, the components are placed on 10mm circle, I want to change it to 8 or 12mm.
