should I learn Altium or Cadence software?
« on: July 18, 2015, 02:42:09 am »
I'm deciding which software to learn - Altium or Cadence Allegro / OrCad?
Which software is more often used in the industry in big companies?

If I were to learn one, which would be a better investment?

Thanks everyone!

Altium has been my experience.  If you like, search job listings for SCH/PCB design / layout work, and see which ones show up more often.

Every where I have worked has preferred OrCad. I would have thought that as long as you had some experience with a schematic capture package and PCB layout I would have thought a reasonable employer would get you training. Of more importance is knowing good layout methods and techniques.
