Global Net Settings in Altium ???
« on: October 22, 2020, 09:26:31 am »
Greetings,

I am new to Altium Designer and i am still trying to learn it. I am trying to change the track widts and lenghts of the some nets coming out of an IC. I am not sure, but i believe i saw a feature on OrCAD where there is a list of all the nets and you can make such changes there. Is there a similar feature in Altium ?

Thanks

Better, I'd dare say.  Probably OrCAD has this too, I don't recall?

Anyway, best way is to apply a net class to the nets in question.  This is done on the schematic.  On the PCB, create a rule for objects in that class.  Can even specify some rules from the SCH.

Next option is to call out the nets individually (with a query like "InNet('MyNet1') OR InNet('MyNet2') OR ..."), but this sucks as net names can change more often, or accidentally.  Especially if referencing auto-named nets.

There are also associations with components, pads, or rooms, which may be helpful.
