Altium PCB panelizing problem!
« on: January 25, 2020, 09:55:00 am »
Hi,
I have multiple altium PCB projects, and to save costs, I want to panelize all of them, I have tested it on Altium 19 & 20,I use Place -> Embedded board array/panelize command to place several design files, the problem is that, it would not show the keep out layers for the boards! Am I missing something?

Use mechanical layer to define the board outline, do not use keepout any more. They are sort of deprecating it.

You can use third party tools to panelize as well.
Profile -> Modify profile -> Look and Layout ->  Don't show users' signatures

Are you planning to have multiple designs on one panel? If so I would recommend limiting yourself to one PCB design per panel
Later on you will run into situations where the yield of one board will be higher than the other, and do make up the numbers you might have to make extra boards. If your panels consists of more than one design then you will run into wastage, but if your panel consists of only one design then it won't be an issue
