Merge 3d bodies in altium designer
« on: March 23, 2022, 06:23:13 am »
Hi, I made 2 3D mode pieces in Altium Designer and I want to merge these two to make a one piece. How do I do this?

Alitum is not really a 3D designer software. The best thing you can do is select both and add it to a union, then they move together.

You could create a small board with these 3d bodies, export it as a step file and place 3d body from step file in your project.

I tried that once, hiding the little bit of PCB inside the model.  It didn't like that... crashed.  That was a long time ago though, haven't needed to do that operation very often.  So I don't know if that's still a problem.
