Altium: how to display schematic variants
« on: January 19, 2016, 03:34:16 pm »
Hi all,

I'm new to Altium and I'm trying to switch between the different variants of a project. The project already has several variants but I cannot display the different schematics in Altium. I can see the variants in the Variations dropdown menu and can see which components are DNF-ed in the Variant Management window. I've also seen copies of the different schematics with some of the components crossed out so I think the variants are configured correctly. However, whenever I select a variant from the dropdown menu, only the name of the schematic changes and all components appear as fitted.

I've tried it both on Altium Viewer and Altium Designer and it's the same with both. I've also tried compiling and recompiling before and after selecting a variant but to no avail. It seems like an easy thing to do but it appears I'm doing it wrong  |O.

Any suggestions?

Look for the little tabs at the bottom left of the schematic view.  (These are present when the project has been compiled.)
