Altium Viewer Offline Installation / Installer
« on: August 02, 2020, 09:57:09 pm »
Hi,
I downloaded and registered (i.e. got username and password) for the altium viewer but when I try to install it on a client's machine that does not have internet connection after a couple of steps it says it come up with the following error and when I press ok it exits the isntallation:

"EULA download has failed, setup cannot proceed. Error from appregistry.ap.altium.com. The server name cannot be resolved"

I also downloaded the license they sent me the link for (in the registration email) but it doesn't even get to the stage where it asks for it.

How can I install the Viewer on a machine that is not connected to the net?

Thank you

You could try putting that name into the local hosts file against a loopback (127.0.0.1) - it would then resolve, but then might fall over not being able to get the page/file.

Is this the summer 09 viewer or a newer version?

The Summer 09 release of Altium Designer Viewer (and later) does not require a license. You can freely download and install the Viewer on any computer. Once installed, you can begin viewing design projects straight away. Although use of the Viewer does not require you to be signed in to a registered Altium account, you will need to sign in should you wish to access additional resources that are delivered through the secure Altium Portal.

They used to have the link on their site but maybe its been removed now.
Profile -> Modify profile -> Look and Layout ->  Don't show users' signatures

Thank you.
They still have. That's what I ended up doing.
You just have to request it and explain why you want an offline installation.
