Cut, Paste and other Clipboard Shenanigans

This is an Issue which very rarely happens to me but when it does it drives me up the Wall.

I believe this only happens on Mechanical Layers as it most usually occurs when I am cleaning up cosmetically old Board Designs (Overlay and such).
So you would think you can just do your regular, cut, paste, move actions during repetitive tasks in the design process.... however sometimes I can only cut (then after that not paste ofc) not copy nor move some lines or tracks.
I check they are unlocked... I even move them to different layers, I check my sanity... nothing.
Also nothing in the clipboard... it makes the effort but in reality its blank even after cutting (and dissappearing).
In the end I start redrawing over it and copying that.

Anyone else has this happen or is it just me?

If it isn't that then sometimes I find Altium (especially if you leave it open for hours/days on end) just needs a good old restart.
For example you can copy a chunk of objects and then paste them, only to find that there are now new random objects strewn about that you cannot select. I imagine that is because they are just graphical errors. Nevertheless, a restart seems to fix that bug.

The track(s)/line(s) are real, I can drag them around just not cut or copy or paste or use the move command even on single ones.

I restarted and reopened Altium with a worked on project of mine where I knew some of those nasty tracks are still around with several I fixed.
The new ones are Ok, the old ones are not.

Might be an issue of working on older versions? I suspect not as this project was something like AD19...

Did you try clearing the filter. Shift+c?

No avail...

I suspected some SVN Repository Shenanigans but that is not it either.

Edit: Also remember this only affects old tracks on the same layer as if they were "locked" (which they are not and you can still "drag as in extend but not move" and it would not affect the ability to copy either).

What I find most suspicious is that Altium "pretends" to put them into the clipboard but in reality does not.

Try closing and reopening the file? Restarting Altium?

The usual paranoia checks.  Maybe something's going fucky.

Sometimes you'll actually see the inconsistency just before it crashes.  Heavy rerouting and trace moving seems prone to this.  Maybe randomly you drag or reroute over something and it doesn't take.  Maybe a ratsnest sticks around, hanging onto an object that just disappeared.  Sometimes you can save the file, close and reopen, and continue; other times you'll correct the apparent mistake and
