I'm having trouble manually importing a part into Altium
« on: June 12, 2020, 02:28:34 am »
I'm importing this transistor called "ATF-34143" into Altium. I found a file for it here:

https://www.snapeda.com/parts/ATF-34143-TR1G/Broadcom/view-part/

I download it and import it using "import wizard" on Altium. It imports a .PcbLib file but no .SchLib file! The tutorial I'm watching ( ) is telling me to copy the .SchLib file and paste it somewhere, but I can't do that if I have no .SchLib. Is there a way I can make the .SchLib manually? I can't figure this out!

Are you sure there is actually a schematic symbol it doesn't look like snapeda has one.

Good point, there is no schematic symbol at all... how do I import it in that case? They have the footprint.

Draw your own schematic symbol or copy it from another library (open the library, schematiclib, select everything in the symbol, copy, then paste to wherever the new symbol is being drawn). Make sure the pins match up correctly.

You can copy entire components in pcb/schlib and paste them into other libraries, or you can copy the "drawn" portion, whatever is more convenient. I'm sure Feranec will mention it somewhere.
