Silkscreen keepout
« on: November 13, 2020, 01:30:39 am »
Hi I have a fancy silkscreen that I have imported, it is covering some pads.
Is there a way to create a keepout area for the silkscreen?
Or subtract is some way the imported silkscreen with a primitive(line) so I can free the pads?

For reference:
I'm experimenting with more advanced PCB iterconnection using slots on the main pcb and fingers on secondary pcbs.
I'm creating a christmas tree without any header/jumper.
This is the second experiment, the first one (a car remote steering adapter) was quite successful.
The important thing is to get involved, and don't give up.

in gerbers generation there is usually some option like "subtract mask from silk" that'll removing silk covering pads, some pcb manufacturers do it automatically

I would love to create a bit more space around the slot, so that is why I've asked if a keepout area for silkscreen was available.
