Multichannel design and copying same layout with polygons
« on: February 18, 2016, 04:09:27 pm »
First of all i am beginner...

I am designing board with 8 same channels. When i make layout with polygons on one channel and use copy room formats to get same layout on each channel I get collision on copied channels because polygon around D-PAK is connected to NetD1_D08_2 and this same net is copied across all channels as layout. Please can someone refer me how to instruct Altium to do change net for this polygon by automatism?

We just had this..?

I don't know why it doesn't change polygon properties. If you have auto-repour disabled, maybe Update Primitives from Component Pads will do it automatically?  Otherwise, go through and do it by hand.  Try to avoid tweaking the layout and having to copy and update things again...

FYI:

I'm doing this today, as it happens.  Turns out it works (v. 16.0+) if you do:
D, M, C
Click a source room, then click a destination
In the dialog, check Copy All Objects Touching the Room

It even clears the old ones, so you don't get a huge pile of copied shapes or anything.  ^-^
