Pdf of schematic messed up
« on: February 02, 2015, 03:52:18 pm »
I tried to use smart pdf to make a document of my schematic but all letters and numbers are messed up. There's a huge spacing between each letter/number. It gets better when I use "output job" but then all the letters with big fonts are crunch together. Didn't have this with Altium 6 only with 10. Tried to search any possible preference but no luck. Anyone have an idea?

Wonder if it has anything to do with Unicode, language settings, font settings, print driver settings (including possible options related to the first two), etc.

Altium seems to do very poorly with anything other than ASCII.

Where are you from anyway, if you don't mind my asking?

I'm in the Netherlands. Maybe it's a country specific problem or win 7 , I don't know. Tried to change the language but no luck. I do have a work around by printing the schematic to PDF creator which works great.
I couldn't find anything on the net so maybe I'm the only one.....

thanks,

Simon

it's font related, probably not charset related.

If I remember correctly, pdfcreator doesn't advertise that it knows any fonts, so the printing application will almost definitely send the SHAPES of the characters rather than simply the font name to use and which characters to print.
