Update to 16.1.9 nuked my project?
« on: June 16, 2016, 01:03:55 pm »
Or more likely: I did something stupid that coincides with installing the latest version. Whatever the reason: placement is all out of whack on an existing project. If I take a component that placed just fine in the past, it refuses to even go back to the same spot as before (see attachment). I disabled online DRC and disabled the rules themselves for good measure. Ticked the "ignore obstacles" box. Nothing seems to help. Happens with all the components I tried. In addition, seems dog-slow now, as if it is constantly verifying an encyclopedia of rules. Seems to me like it is taking into account the 3D outlines (the grey translucent area on the selected component) even though no online DRC is active, all online rules have been disabled and no component placement rule is active anyway..

I don't get it...  :-//

For those playing at home: Altium, apparently, introduced "component" pushing in 16.1. And this was enabled by default.

Preferences -> PCB Editor -> Interactive Routing -> Component Pushing -> Ignore

This was probably the only parameter on that page that I hadn't tried.

Also: kudos to Transfer BV. Took a 3 min phonecall. So, I guess my subscription almost payed off for this year  O0

Yes...

Good thing they were happy to take Your subscription money so that they could afford to tell You where they screwed up.
