Just a heads up for you:

I've imported Circuit Studio design into AD 17.1.9. I don't know if there were any variants defined in Circuit Studio.
A variant property of components got imported, but not the variant itself. Variant dialog of AD does not show any variants defined.
Outputting Pick and Place file without checking "Include Variation Component" does leave out parts that have a variant property set.

Because I had no indication that there were variants, I left the option disabled, resulting in components missing from the pick and place file.

So if you are in the same position as I was, make sure to check the option to include all variants in output and show the column with the variants in your pick and place dialog.

I hope this saves someone some hassle.

EDIT: more descriptive title
