Trace and pad.... same net..... but poor connection
« on: November 04, 2015, 05:07:58 pm »
Hi all-

I have a trace with net XY and it runs very close to a pad with the same net of XY. The trace literally barely grazes the pad. This does not show up as a disconnect when running design rule check but it is an extremely poor, unreliable connection. The design clearance rule is set to "Different Nets" so there is no clearance error. If I change the rule to "Same Net" I get a ton of errors (obviously).

How do I set up a rule to flag this? I've played around with the rules with no luck.

Thanks for any help.

AV sync is a bit weird in the video, but you dont see a person talking, so its not that bad.
