Is it worth updating Altium from 19 to 23?
« on: June 29, 2023, 10:12:00 pm »
I know, it's one of "those" posts...

I have been using Altium 19 on a permanent license since it was released, though I have had the opportunity to update it at any time. That opportunity may go away, and I am wondering if there are good reasons to stay on 19 versus upgrading to 23 while I still can. I already have some reasons to upgrade, but they are not very strong or I would have done it already.

Thanks in advance.

John

I always found 18 to be the buggiest version of AD things have gotten progressively better with each release in regards to stability.

Honestly it is worth upgrading just for the net selection eyedropper which I don't think was in 19, but I might be wrong.

The draughtsman document is worth upgrading for. Not sure if it was in 19 but there were vast improvements in 21/22 so even if you have it, the current version should be much better.
