Circuit Studio colour scheme in Designer?
« on: June 10, 2020, 01:02:46 pm »
Hi, am trialing Designer after using Circuit Studio and one thing I really did like about CS was the colour schemes. Are there any ready made colour schemes for Designer that I can load in to match CS?

Thanks
Trev

In CS go to Preferences|PCB Editor|Layer Colors [sic] and for an action select "Save As color profile..."

In AD go to Preferences|PCB Editor|Layer Colors and then "Load color profile..." and point to the file you saved above.

AD doesn't seem to add new profiles to the saved list. Well, it does, but it forgets on restart. The colours remain as set, though.

Thanks, Simon. Was a bit obvious really, I should have figured that one!

In hindsight maybe I shouldn't have set it out quite like that - took me an age to find the first time too.

In AD, the View Configuration panel is your friend. Unlike in CS, it's trivial to turn layer visibility on and off, and the View Options tab is full of goodies: transparency being the biggy. From the Configuration drop-down, select 'Altium transparent 2D' for a pretty reasonable demo.
