Altium - Copy Room Format
« on: March 19, 2013, 11:29:16 am »
I am designing a new 2 channel board that is basically a cut down version of a 5 channel design I did previously.

The new board uses the same channel sheet symbols as the old project.  I have placed and sized the rooms on the new board.

What I'd like to do is copy the room format from one channel in the previous project PCB to the rooms of the new project PCB.

How do you do this?  The Copy Room Format function only works within the same PCB file as far as I can see.

I haven't used this myself but thought it might be helpful.

Thanks, I'll check that out.  It might be a viable alternative.

Snippets don't seem to what I want for this multi-channel design.

Does anyone else work with rooms a lot?

Why not just start with a copy of the old design and "throw away" the portions you don't need?

If that won't work for some reason, SNIPPETS should work for what you want. After adding the new "snippets" to your current board you will probably have to resynchronize your schematic and PcbDoc.
