Buck converter Design

Hello everyone, I have designed this buck converter and was wondering if they layout is good enough for the first design ? Thanks

It's a bit messy. 

What's going on with the feedback resistors R1 and "R" ?  Why are they magnitudes different in size?

You can generally put the feedback resistors a bit further away from the IC and instead focus on putting the high power components (input C, L, output C) closer.

On that note, the ground pin of the input cap, the IC and the output cap are not well connected to each other.  I don't see much in the way of vias and it looks like ground currents have to take serpentine paths on the top layer.  In fact I think the ground path might have to go around most of your board to connect the two sides, which could result in very poor performance.

The LMR51420 datasheet has a recommended layout on page 23, they're typically a good starting point.

Why did you post this in the altium section?

The software used is not relevant for this generic PCB layout question.

Are you sure you can actually assemble this board? Some components seems to be right on top of each other.

Yeah those inductors footprints look weird, and they're ontop of other parts.
